HPFF Twitters..
HPFF now has a twitter account. Although several staff members have personal accounts which a lot of you are following, we thought it would be a good idea to have an account that staff could post in to reflect news on the site and the world of HP or just to say hello. :)
So if you have an account and you want to follow us, we can be found on @HPFF.
HPFF Staff on 2009.10.17 - 01:26PM House Spirit Winners
Your house Prefects have been working hard behind the scenes to bring you the first ever House Spirit Awards. Joanne K came up with a wonderful idea during the Princely Summer competition to recognize the member from each house that has shown the most house spirit throughout the house cup. All of our winners contributed to their house over the course of the summer by participating in the events, encouraging their house mates, and showing great teamwork. After all of the houses were given a chance to nominate and vote for their fellow members, the results are finally in!

A New Era Dawns
HPFF has undergone a lot of changes since its inception. From its early incarnations to the soon to be legendary Castle skin that's been with us for almost three years, HPFF has always been tinkering with site events/activities/contests to keep things fresh and new. As most of you know, we've spent the last month or so working on site upkeep, maintenance and yes, a graphic facelift has been called for as well.
Bitterepiphany, our resident archive skin guru, was asked to create an entirely new look for the “relaunch” of HPFF. Simple request? Not hardly. Especially when she had to deal with the likes of Jay and myself. From the minor (no more blue! I want gray! No, gray's too boring! Drop down links! No classic links!) to the major (size, specific character images, ability to link, one skin default) we pretty much drove her into the loony bin with our requests. I'm not sure why she puts up with the two of us. But I'm certainly glad she did.
Unveiling this weekend, you will get to see all the hours and hours of hard work she's put into the new skin. From the original color choices (pink, purple, ghost gray...it ran the gamut) to font choices and individual character images, this fabulous lady managed to eek out more creativity in one site package than Jay or I could ever have dreamed for. Thank you doesn't quite seem like justice for the work she put into it but we hope you all will join us in that sentiment. (For a sneak peak at the skin, visit your account and check for skin 2009)
It's also time to say goodbye to the site tagline that has served us for nearly nine wonderful years. “What will you imagine?” is moving in to site history as the new, more fitting, “where the story continues” is launched. Planned for release after the last HP book was published, the tag is a long time in coming and all of us are glad to finally have it see the light of day.
For those who haven't visited the forums, it has also received a facelift and this weekend, thanks to talented TDA artist and HPFF author emerald_nellie, you'll be able to view the new header that helps better tie the forums and archive together for seamless unity.
With about 48 hours until the relaunch, it's time to say goodbye to those random skins you love so much, take a last gander at the tagline, and wave a fond goodbye to the purple castle. And then join us all on Saturday as we welcome a new era in site history at HPFF where the story will always continue.
