Your Chance to Help Out!
Our founder and site owner Jay is one heck of a guy. Not only has he taken his time, devoted his own hard earned money and generally put up with all of his insane staff over his many years at HPFF but now he’s readying himself to jump off a building!
In his latest endeavour, Jay will be abseiling from a 10 storey building to raise money for CLIC, a UK based children’s charity for children’s cancers. If you have the funds and ability, we ask that you please join us and show your support. If you are unable to donate funds, please take a moment of your time to drop by the forum to offer him your well wishes and words of wisdom before he takes the plunge. Ever bit of support, monetary or general “you, Go, Jay!” chants are greatly welcomed.
Personally, I’m can’t wait to hear the stories of his jump – I’m rather curious if jumping 10 storeys has any comparison to having to deal with all of us HPFF’ers!

Goodbye HPSU
Ah, yes, the time has come to say goodbye to our new inventive idea for a site. It appears many of you had fun, many of you got pretty nasty and even more of you were banned. (Such tempers!)
I hope you enjoyed having fun around the site this April Fools and please.... don't send me any more emails! Things will be back to normal shortly.
Although, I have to say, I'm a bit offended by those who didn't stick up for Sirius/Lily. Really folks... that was just not nice.
A special thanks to all of you who helped make this year so special. Logical (my partner in crime), Bitterpiphany for the graphics, Nick for all the coding and, of course, each one of the "striking" staffers who helped carry things along. You all are the best and there could never be a better place for my home on the net.

Queue Closure
The queue will be closed beginning on MARCH 26th for routine site maintenance and updates. NO STORIES will be accepted from any authors at this time.

New Site Rules
As many of you know, the site rules have been undergoing massive edits in the last few months. We anticipate having them completed and posted by mid to late March. In an effort to get the new rules up and running as well as taking care of a few routine maintenance issues at the site, we will be having a queue closure in the coming month. The closure will allow us the opportunity to handle the maintenance issues as well as give the validators and moderators time to adjust to the new rules and be able to answer any questions you may have on the new site requirements/rejections reasons,etc.
We appreciate your patience in helping us make this the best HP fanfic site on the internet and, as always, we will keep you updated with news and reminders as we get closer to the closure time.

New Validators
First, let me say thank you to everybody who submitted a validator application. I did not get a chance to respond to each of you individually but I did review each application and we will be keeping them for future reference. Within the first couple days we were so swamped with applications that it became clear that this was NOT going to be an easy decision. After a difficult trial period, relentless interview questions and scrutiny of the staff I am pleased to introduce you to your new HPFF validators. I have no doubt that they will do a fabulous job at helping us remain the best fanfiction site on the net. If you were not selected in this round of staffing please do not lose heart. We often look for validators and they’ll be more opportunities to join our team in the future.
