Welcome to harrypotterfanfiction.com, the oldest, (and best) unofficial dedicated Harry Potter Fanfiction site on the net. Founded in February 2001, we currently hold over 78,000 stories and receive, on average, over 50 million hits per month. To find a story, please click here to use our search engine, or scroll a little further down to the right of the page to see a list of 'Genres' and 'featured stories'. If you would like to write a story for the archive, please click the 'write stories' link in the navigation box and then 'register an account'. We hope you enjoy your time on the site and manage to find a story that you enjoy. If you read any of the stories here, please remember to leave a review. Authors thrive on feedback and your reviews help them to improve as writers. Thankyou for taking the time to stop by.
Dear HPFF community,
Due to all the arguing around the site, in addition to the massive amounts of inappropriate content posted in the queue lately, we have decided to eliminate ships completely from the archive and forums.
That means NO MORE discussion about ships, pairings, romance, sexual activities, or any other type of romantic interaction. No more blogs, no more status updates. Doing so will result in disciplinary action.
We at Harry Potter Fan Fiction try to create an environment that is accommodating to everyone.
The site rules have been updated to reflect the new changes. The archive rules will be updated in the next few days.
Please continue to enjoy this site free from any romantic drama or debate.
Edit: Happy Birthday, Fred and George. See you all again next April 1st!

HPFF Staff on 2013.03.21 - 05:37PM Free Writers Webinar. 28th Feb.
Having access to the best resources can make a huge difference in an author’s success and we recognize that HarryPotterFanFiction.com provides a place for writers to share tips and gain inspiration. Similarly, in our hope to help authors create their best possible works, Archway Publishing and Simon & Schuster are sponsoring a free webinar entitled, “The Top Ten Mistakes Every Writer Should Avoid.”
The live, interactive event is being held on Thursday, February 28th at 12:00 PM EST. Experienced book professionals from both S&S and Archway will share their knowledge and insights on how to avoid common writing mistakes and become a better writer. Whether an author is looking to self-publish or hoping follow a traditional path, our webinar will highlight some of the key elements to a successfully written book.
You can also learn more about Archway Publishing on our website.

airthmancy_wiz on 2012.05.13 - 05:29PM Staff Tutorial Updates
After many member requests, the Staff Tutorials have now been updated!
ALL the tutorials, located here (12+), have had at least some minor updates. Most of the revisions include clarifications and expansions on existing information. However...
We have also posted two BRAND NEW tutorials. One for Formatting/Citations and one for Violence. Please review them, but keep in mind, while we think they will be helpful, it is IMPOSSIBLE for us to provide tutorials on every type of material that may or may not be submitted by our authors. This is why we are happy to field specific questions you may have about your own stories in the Ask The Staff section, or though our email or Trouble Ticket system.
